CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Lead Technical Artist to join our Boston studio for the development of Cyberpunk 2 , the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. Your unique skills and background will influence our workflows. You will lead and grow effective teams, provide feedback, and foster the development of team members. There will be opportunities to share your passion, knowledge, and inspire others.

Daily Responsibilities

1. Lead the development of technical art initiatives.
2. Collaborate with artists and engineers to create optimized, high-quality visual assets, tools, and pipeline solutions.
3. Address complex technical art challenges.
4. Define and document technical art processes, tools, and best practices.
5. Maintain the content creation pipeline.
6. Coordinate with other teams to achieve common goals.
7. Inspire and mentor the Technical Art team, fostering creativity, trust, and excellence.
8. Promote a team culture aligned with company values and goals.
9. Disseminate and escalate information appropriately.

Qualifications

1. Strong artistic sense, especially in urban and architectural aesthetics.
2. At least 8 years of experience as a Technical Artist, including team leadership.
3. Experience developing shaders for urban environments, with a solid understanding of urban materials.
4. A portfolio demonstrating expertise in procedural urban generation and shaders.
5. Proficiency with tools like Houdini, World Machine, and Substance Designer, especially for cityscape or terrain generation.
6. Experience with UE4/UE5 and blueprints.
7. Creative mindset with strong project dedication.
8. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
9. Receptive to feedback and knowledge sharing.

Nice to Have

• Scripting skills in Python or VEX.
• Knowledge of urban planning or architectural principles.
