The Recycling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the recycling department, ensuring production goals are met while maintaining safety and quality standards. This position will involve managing personnel, coordinating production activities, verifying documentation, and supporting a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Coordination
· Monitor staff attendance and report any absences or tardiness.
· Lead and direct department leads to ensure tasks are organized and operations flow smoothly.
· Fill in for wash line and extrusion leads as needed to maintain productivity.
Communication and Reporting
· Coordinate production schedules and updates with the Production Manager.
· Enter end-of-shift data and production paperwork into the appropriate files.
· Complete detailed End of Shift Daily Reports to ensure accurate documentation.
Operational Oversight
· Verify that machine operators are following correct procedures and operating efficiently.
· Double-check output weights and confirm the accuracy of paperwork completed by leads.
· Manage the flow of materials between Receiving, Wash, and Extrusion departments, ensuring all paperwork is properly completed.
Safety and Compliance
· Enforce safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
· Report equipment issues to the Production Manager for timely maintenance.
· Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems, including pump malfunctions and air/water supply issues.
Inventory and Labeling
· Print and apply labels for all materials running through machines.
· Ensure all Resin and Flake materials are correctly labeled and tracked in inventory.
Team Support and Additional Duties
· Assist leads in operating equipment as needed to support continuous production.
· Ensure daily checklists are completed and discrepancies are addressed promptly.
· Perform other tasks as assigned by the Production Manager based on operational requirements.
Requirements:
· Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing, recycling, or industrial environment preferred
· Strong organizational and leadership skills
· Excellent communication and team coordination abilities
· Comfortable working in a physically active environment
· Ability to multitask and resolve issues proactively
· Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
