The Revenue Cycle reporting and data Analyst is responsible for identifying, building, and maintaining Epic Professional Billing Reimbursement contracts and revenue cycle data analysis for WWT's clients. Performs simple and complex data extraction and analysis in support of both ad-hoc and standing requests with accurate and appropriate data interpretation. Works closely with Client Services management team and other WWT operations to determine data needs. Coordinates data collection for reporting for audits, system analysis and system issue resolution. Works with departments toward consolidated reporting parameters.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop knowledge and expertise with the Professional Billing Reimbursement Contract platform in Epic
  • Assure accurate reimbursement estimates within Epic through ongoing build implementation and fee schedule maintenance for all PB contracts
  • Collaborate with hospital billing contract team yearly for evaluation of Machine-Readable Files for self-pay estimates and compliance with No Surprises Act
  • Prepare daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for clients with expert analysis of data implications and interpretation of impact on revenue
  • Effective use and mastery of all available reporting systems for root cause analysis and identifying pain points
  • Analyze data sets for outliers, trends, and opportunities that will be communicated to management to inform actionable optimization efforts
  • Develop methods, queries and manual assembly of requested information needed to accurately meet the needs of specified analysis and auditing projects
  • Create clear and meaningful professional reports in presentation format (i.e. graphs, charts and other visualizations) to be escalated to leadership within WWT and the hospital
  • Maintain current PB contract fee schedule tracker and ticketing system in Teams
  • Adhere to turnaround times on projects and contract build thru expert use of organizational tools
  • Perform other work assignments as required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel necessary to pivot data by Payer, Department, or CPT to identify trends and analyze for root cause.

· Ability to independently troubleshoot low complexity technology issues in remote environments to maintain productivity and participate in remote meetings.

· Extensive knowledge in A/R billing processes such as reviewing EOBs, Modifiers, Payer Product Types, Epic Account review helpful.

· Ability to analyze accuracy and financial impact of payer fee schedule updates

· Epic professional billing workflows and workqueue inventory and supervision

· Professional communication in email and meetings with university stakeholders and internal department team members

· Ownership and utilization of organizational and time management resources to effectively meet deadlines and manage priorities.

· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.

· Goal-oriented – hold themselves accountable to achieving shared professional and personal goals.

· Interpersonal skills –Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to interact effectively and build collaborative relationships with diverse clients, stakeholders and staff members at all levels.

· Writing skills –advanced writing skills with ability to present a compelling argument, punctuate properly, spell correctly and transcribe accurately.

Experience/Education requirements:

Associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or finance related field. A minimum of three to five years of in-depth and supported Revenue Cycle experience in a healthcare setting may be substituted for education.

Strong background in payer contract analysis, contract validation, reimbursement methodologies, and managed care appeals processes is essential. Experience with Epic PB contract modeling and build.

Epic PB Contract Certification, preferred

Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and data analytics tools required. Experience with Epic and Professional Billing contract management systems is highly desirable.

Background in MS Suite/Access, Cubes, and Epic Reporting tools is highly desired. Familiarity with Experian Contract Manager and Contract Analysis platform a plus.

Must be able to multi-task in a busy environment and communicate clearly both in written and verbal formats. A background in reporting tools such as Access and Excel is highly desired.
