Job Description

The Senior Process Engineer will support Capital projects and Corporate initiatives across the PLZ network.

The role will be based out of our St. Clair, MO manufacturing plant and also support our plant in Pacific, MO.

Key Responsibility:

• Continuously drive culture change and acceptance of best practices
• Engage with applicable departments on a routine basis to stay informed of issues faced and subsequently resolve them
• Conduct observations and analyze data including downtime, cycle time, material waste etc., in order to bring recommendations for improvement opportunities to the team
• Serve as continuous improvement mentor for the floor staff and propagate the methodologies in the work culture
• Conduct process mapping exercises to define processes, aid in documenting standard work to formalize new processes and define production rates
• Repair vs buy analysis
• Manage Capital projects from design to install
• Line automation
• Packaging Equipment experience (palletizer, case packing, carton packing and tapers)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
• 5+ years of experience, preferably in a chemical industry Working knowledge of chemical process equipment including but not limited to rotating equipment, heat transfer, conveyors, storage tanks and vessels
• Experience with OSHA and EPA regulations associated with Process Safety Management, Risk Management Plan and their application
• Broad knowledge of steel tank specification, design, operations, inspections and preventative maintenance
• Must have general knowledge of project management, reliability engineering and root cause analysis. Demonstrated work experience in project management including conceptual development, estimating and project execution
• Strong technical background in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with demonstrated experience in the chemical industry where related technical skills were applied
